Toowoomba Newborn and Family Photographer

As it seems to be the case these days, another year has flown by and we're now officially in 2019. I announced a few weeks ago that there would be TWO big things I needed to tell you this year, and here is the first one...

After going back and fourth in my mind for a little while, I've come to the decision to close the Vanessa Grace Photography studio. Let me explain.

For nearly five years I have welcomed probably hundreds (I should really count them up one day) of babies and families into my tiny home studio and captured some really special moments for them. I adored being able to provide the families with a bright, calm and cosy place to have their precious newborn captured in their early days. However over the last few months, something has been niggling away at the back of my mind and in my heart.

Since having Vincent I've been drawn to capturing the everyday moments, and the very essence that is him. My most favourite photos of him aren't him in the studio. They were captured in our home or out in the yard. I can feel my heart drifting away from studio work and moving towards a more natural approach. So a few weeks ago I decided it was time to take the leap and commit to changing direction with my newborn photography sessions.  The door to the studio will now be closed and from now on I will be offering my newborn sessions in your home, so I can focus on capturing those early newborn days in the place you are most comfortable and where your memories are made.

For those of you who have been around since the beginning, you will remember that I originally shot all newborn shoots at the client's home, however this time it will be a little different. There won't be 10 boxes of props, backdrops and equipment. Just me, my camera and maybe a couple of blankets.

I want the newborn sessions to be an accurate representation of your babies first days earthside. Snuggles with Mum and Dad on their bed, cuddles with an overly affectionate big brother on the couch, or sleeping peacefully in their beautiful nursery you so thoughtfully and lovingly created for them.

The sessions will still include the same range of photographs taken including baby on their own, sibling and family shots. They will just have a more relaxed approach, with minimal posing.

I know this won't be what everyone is after, but I need to listen to my heart and see where this new direction takes me. Who knows, I may try it for a few months and then want to retreat back to the safe and predictable space of the studio.

For now on, this is what I'll be doing. If you think this is the type of newborn session you or someone you know would like, I would love to hear from you.

Keep an eye out next week for announcement number two! I can't wait to share this one with you XxX

(Please note in home sessions are only available for newborn photography sessions. All older baby and family shoots are done at an outdoor location)
